Latest Adventure...

Napali Coast

okay ladies, I'm not much of a blogger so sorry its taken me so long but here is the run-down with some pics... =)

Dropped the girls off Wednesday Oct 10th - Got to the airport past baggage cut-off time due to Donny running late from work - Went on a whim and still took our big pack (for backpacking the trail) and bags through security to the gate (I wasn't going to Kauai without that pack) =) - We were the crazy ones running through the airport trying to make our flight - Made it with probably only seconds to spare and they green-tagged our 3 bags and our pack as well. =)

Arrived in San Jose, CA for the night - flew out to Kauai the next morning - Explored what we could and went grocery shopping to stock the condo - went to bed early (for Hawaii time) - had everything set to go and we officially set off from the start of the trailhead that Friday morning at 7:30am.

Start of the trailhead.

Falling Rocks... Hazardous Cliffs... Flash Floods...
Still wanna go??... Heck yeah!

First view of the coast... 1/2 mile in... only about 10.5 miles to go.

Crossing the river at the first beach... 2 miles in.

Little white speck towards the mid-upper left is a helicopter.
1st stop to refuel

View back towards the trailhead.

Infamous Crawlers ledge. Some say its about 200ft up
but a native told us its 400ft. According to elevation charts
around 400ft seems to be more accurate.

Looking back towards the trailhead. See the trail?

Can you see the two people in the pic above? One is in a white shirt.
(We were probably level with them elevation-wise... just a few mountains back).

Area of beach that is visible is our final destination.

Final decent down the 'red dirt hill'.

 Over half way.
Finally, well almost, there. There is a person right by the water which gives a better perspective on how huge and awesome this coast is. Crazy to think I took this picture.

View from our camp spot. Not bad.

I just need a mango =)

The awesome waterfall on the beach. Where's Waldo? I mean... the goat?
